About Us

Indian Institute of Mineral Engineers (IIME) Bhubaneswar chapter is situated in the mineral heart of the India at the city of Bhubaneswar in state of Odisha having its headquarters (HQ) at Jamshedpur. The IIME is registered under the societies registration act no. XXI, 1860 with registration number as Bom 155/69 G.B.B.S.D. IIME Bhubaneswar chapter has its humble begining on 19th October 1993 at C/O IMMT, Bhubaneswar (then RRL Bhubaneswar).  IIME Bhubaneswar chapter is the professional body involved in making technical interaction with mineral based industries, R&D and academia for exchange of knowledge. The members of these societies are in different discipline with R&D / Academic / Industrial experience background in different mineral based industries. The major activates of the chapters include conducting conferences or seminars, brainstorming interactive sessions among R&D-Academic-Industries, industrial tours, technical invited talks, skill development, HRD trainings, interactions with government and its agencies, etc. Further, IIME Bhubaneswar Chapter encourages the mineral processing professionals and students by recognizing their contributions and providing honours and awards. In addition to this from the year 2022 the chapter will be starting an international journal “Mineral Processing Transactions” that will publish the latest research and innovations in the mineral processing and its allied areas.

The IIME Bhubaneswar chapter is supported by it's more than 190 IIME members; who are the main driving force in the success of the chapter. The chapter constantly encourages new talent and professionals in the mineral processing field to join the society and bring in their wisdom for the betterment of mineral fraternity.

Chairman's Message

In the last decade Information technology has witnessed a tremendous growth. Rapid advancement in the communication technologies for medias like television, computer, internet, printing and publishing has enabled us to get prompt access to required information. IT in the country has played a major role in placing India on the international map & COVID situation has enhanced it drastically.

After the “Digital India” initiative of Government of India I am happy to announce that IIME Bhubaneswar chapter has successfully launched its web site. This web site is our mirror image and all our activities are show cased. Presently the website contains our previous years and current years activities. The IIME Bhubaneswar Chapter is involved in various activates such as conducting seminars or conferences, professional interactions, Industrial tours, invited talks, conducting trainings or skill development programmes, interacting with government or its agencies for the developments in the mineral & steel sectors Some of the notable past events of IIME Bhubaneswar Chapter are MPT-2004, MPT-2009, MPT-2013, CBPI-2019, HRDG-2016, HRDW-2015 etc. Read more...
